Healing comes in all forms. From taking herbs to reiki. What form of healing do you rely on most?

Personally, I mostly rely on energetic healing. If I'm feeling sick, I work on my energy first, then hit the herbs. I find that form of healing to be the most beneficial to me. If things get bad, I will of course seek outside help and not be a nutjob who thinks that she's her own doctor :Yikes: , but I like to see what I can do for myself first.

I use and send energy healing as much as possible too - however as I have an chronic illness I do have to see my Dr every three months if I'm good...

I concentrate on living a healthy lifestyle. I get on my treadmill 30 min a day, and try to walk as much as possible. I eat breakfast every morning, and try to keep my blood sugars stable through the day by eating healthy snacks (though I do cheat with chocolate when it's available!). I've been trying to eat better--more veggies, less junk, etc. I make sure I get enough sleep (except when I'm on call--then I'm at the mercy of the ER and the answering service), and I REALLY try not to over-extend myself, and though sometimes this is out of my control, I don't allow it to go on unchecked for too long (even if this gives me a reputation of being a "complainer"). I also try to maintain some kind of balance--give myself some time for my spirituality and some time to just goof off (ie, watch TV, read books for fun, surf the net, window-shop, etc).

I also make sure I see the dentist twice a year, get my pap smears yearly (and this year, my mammograms, too), and get my cholesterol and sugar checked at least every 3 years.

By doing this, I really only get sick maybe twice a year, despite being around sick people constantly. When I do get sick, NyQuil is the answer! That stuff ROCKS!! I will also wear my "healing oil" in an aromatherapy locket around my neck during the day, but if I continue to be sick for over a week, I'll get the antibiotics on board.

It's actually my kids' health I worry about more. I hate when they are sick. I'm so thankful that overall, my kids are healthy, and I really feel for people who have kids who are chronically ill.

What blend do you use for your healing oil Laurel? Just curious... Im trying to work with blends that work with me... so far.. I find that Lavender tends to be my go to oil for just about everything..lol besides nausea... and for that I use peppermint... I have a host of oils... some I love such as champa.. but can't use very much of it... before it gives me a headache..LOL

I use rosemary, sandalwood, and lemon. I think the minty, lemony scent helps clear my sinuses, and the sandalwood is just a pleasing base. I think lavender, eucalyptus, and chamomile would work well, too. I LOVE the smell of lavender--I find it very relaxing. When I was in pre-term labor with my first child, some gal came into my room with relaxing music and lavender oil, and massaged me and helped me visualize my uterus relaxing. This was pretty nice, given the fact that I was in a military hospital! I think it was the magnesium infusion that stopped the contractions, but the massage therapist did my mind a great favor (my first husband decided to stay home in bed, so I was all alone).

I'm personally an herb person. I don't know why, but that's always where I go first. I love elder berry and lemon. Not togeather, but in general. And also I LOVE using eucalyptus. I don't eat it (not good for you...) but the fumes are really good for respitory stuff. ^_^

Reiki  I also find that, as someone mentioned , lemon juice is perfect for clearing out the sinuses. Spicy things can help as well, but I use mainly lemon juice diluted with water.

Echinacea is also great for colds. Just put it in some tea. It helps a great deal.
